Greatest family

Yesterday Paul ran in the room and told me to grab the camera. I knew it must be a rare sight with his excitement. I came downstairs and quickly captured our two little buddies actually being buddies.

The cutest couple is in Eden's nursery. Yesterday they said she must watch American Idol because she just belts out songs and spins around. She calls them her "princess songs" because she just saids "princess" over and over again. I caught her singing in the mirror the other day.

Turns out he had a sewing class in 7th grade, that is classic Paul. He is a great example of someone who actually remembers and uses what he has learned. I love him for that! I love you Babe.

Continuing Christmas

The after Christmas sales are something I always look forward to. Now that it is February you might think all the goods are gone. However, now is a great time because they are making way for all the spring toys. Today I got this Christmas Cabbage Patch (I know the costume is a little funny) for $3! Hey, Eden will love a holiday baby next year. Also, this outdoor communication set for $4. Next Christmas they will just love playing with it. Up in the attic they go. With three birthdays in December, I always have to plan ahead!

Unfinished business

We got a camera! Paul let me do all the research and buy one (because the last two he has researched and bought...he always spends WAY more than I would have). Since I am the one who either looses it or lets it fall in the hands of our children I decided I wanted a more budget friendly camera.

This past week I have been obsessed with all my projects. I start new ones before finishing the old ones. I had wipe cases, hair bows, headbands, curtains and dresses all in my sewing area (which happens to be the kitchen table). I finished up some loose ends today. I needed to measure this dress on David, I figured since he had the dress on I should add the bow to complete the look.

David's new word

David is always climbing on top of the entertainment center. He had fallen off once, but that doesn't stop him. We have tried several different things, the most consistent thing is saying, "no" in a serious tone. David has evidently picked it up. Now I know whenever he is on top of the entertainment center because he will be sitting up there shaking his head saying, "no no". In the mornings I hear Davey saying, "no" then Eden yelling "no" back, they keep going at it. The other morning Davey was saying , "no" and Eden kept saying, "yes, Day-Day". Eden was getting upset as her answers quickly turned into a scream. They are funny.

First Kiss...

Was anyone else's first kiss like this? I received this in an email over a year ago, I think it is so funny. Kids are so innocent when it comes to putting things in their mouth.

Camera Tragedy

Our blog is going to be picture less for awhile since our lovely daughter threw our camera in the bath tub yesterday!

Punishment for child: Mom letting out a shriek, then calmly trying to explain that we don’t put things in the water.
Punishment for parents: buying a new camera

I am just sick about it. Paul is always telling me that I shouldn't let the kids touch or play with things that are not toys. For example, the phone, remote, computer mouse, keys and of course the CAMERA. He is right, I have been to relaxed with letting the kids touch things. How, when & where did she manage to get the camera in a matter of seconds and dropp it in the tub? All very good questions. Where was I? Right there! These little children are like magicans, if I am not watching them every second I am bound to miss something. I wish we had tall shelves all over the house that we could put everything on…but then they would just find a chair and climb up and probably knock down the whole shelf! Got to love kids.

Tueplo

Tueplo is the birthplace of Elvis and also the closest indoor Mall around. Since moving to Oxford I have come to realize that I was addicted to shopping. In Utah we lived 3 minutes from a mall. I would spend at least one afternoon a week walking around with the kids, playing at the dinosaur room and checking out all the sales. I would literally watch clothes as they lowered in price and at the right moment of $1.99,$3.99 or$9.99 I would snatch up the bargain and give myself a big pat on the back. Once you experience great clearance prices you will never go back! Anyway, I have been kind of moppy all week because I was missing the Old Navy 50% off clearance sale and other great bargains. Today Paul was the nicest husband in the whole world. After class we drove to Tueplo! Paul took the kids on some errands while I scoured Old Navy for the greatest deals ($55 later I walked out with 2 sweaters, shirt & pants for me, 2 sweater & shorts for Paul, 2 shirts & a coat for Eden, a shirt & sweater for Davey, scarf & headband, lipgloss & 2 boxes of cards). The kids had so much fun they failed to realize that they didn't go on the merry-go-around. They like watching other kids...I wonder how long that is going to last? Anyway, enough of this blabber. It is strange how a good evening of shopping can rejuvenate my soul. Thanks Paul.

Go Rebels

Tonight we went to the Ole Miss vs. LSU BBall game. The kids (and Mom) made it the whole game! It was a full house, the excitement was contagious. I was so glad that we were able to spend some time with Paul on a Saturday, the new semester has started and already Paul has an unlimited list of things he should do. 74-71 Go Rebels!

Holiday isle

You can tell what we do by listening to Eden in the car. She is always asking to either go to Wal-mart or church. We have missed visiting the holiday isle at Wal-Mart since Christmas. No worries, now there is the stuffed animal isle celebrating Valentines Day. My kids love those silly singing animals, they push all the buttons and watch in amazement. I wonder who buys these crazy things? Every week the supply gets smaller and smaller. What will you be asking for this Valentines Day?

Twins

My good friend, Candice (blonde next to me) is having Twins! Candice & I were roommates our freshman year in college. We felt like we were the perfect pair having: the same major, blonde hair & short. Since then, it seems my life has been a copy-cat of hers. I left on a mission shortly after her and was also married a few months after she was! Now she is having twins and I couldn't be more thrilled. Although I do hope I don't copy cat this one... Congratulations Can & Mike!

Welcome Home

We are back from our holiday vacation. Whew! Traveling is a team effort: those traveling and those accommodating. We split up our time between our two families, both parents were so hospitality and pleasant. We soaked up their love and generosity. They are the greatest parents and grandparents ever!
We love you Gigi & Papa and Grandma O & Grandpa O ( Not forgetting Lisa & Bradley...they endured a whole week of Eden following them around asking, "where's Bradley, where's Lisa?" if ever they happened to go missing).

From the moment we stepped off the plane the sick bug found us. I think we had about 3 days where we all were well enough to truly enjoy ourselves. You know it's bad when the lady at the front desk of the emergency room recognizes you! Our families were so great, watching the kids and helping out with whatever we needed. Most of the things we had planned on doing we had to canceal. However, our goal for this trip was to spend time with our familes and we did accomplish that! Once we got home, it was so fun to come home to lots of Christmas cards from friends and families. We apologize to those of you in Utah who we didn't get together with. To those we did see, we loved visiting and seeing you. Our life is just blessed with such wonderful people. Happy 2008!

1 & 2 years old

Happy Birthday Eden & David

Kristin, my sister-in-law made these fantastic cakes for the kids birthdays! Isn't she fabulous? Talk about going the extra mile...Kristin you are so great.
Alyson (niece in the middle) knew exactly what to do. She was so excited to blow out her own candles. David on the other hand, was not prepared for the adventures of a candle...

French Toast

Like me, many of you have little and big ones to feed. Cereal still is unpractical for the two rascals. In the past I have made pancakes...but lately we LOVE french toast! Whole wheat bread, milk, eggs, a little cinnamon....ingredients everyone has. Plus, Eden likes to dip the pieces in the syrup. Super fun for the whole family. Just thought I would share, I know that sometimes I get stuck in the same food rut.

Paul's 32

Paul is turning 32 this week! We celebrated a little early with some neighbors because on his actual birthday he will be studying. His first final is today! Good Luck Paul. We love you!

I should give them some credit...there are lots of laughs in the tub!
