Working it...

Last week Eden asked for candy, I told her if she went to the potty she could get a candy. She picked up on that quickly and did her business in her little potty for a piece of candy. This week she has gotten clever. She goes potty...gets a candy and then 15 minutes goes potty again. This little lady has quite a system! Today we were at Wal-Mart and Eden said, "I have to go potty". It was as simple as that and she went. So, that's it!

Today Paul planned to take Eden to the movie store to rent a barbie movie. They sneaked away without David seeing, then I heard the door open and Eden comes running in calling for David. Paul looked at me and said, "Eden doesn't want to go without David". Here they are running outside together! Is this not a parents dream come true? (side note: Paul has been SOOO helpful as he is off school for a few weeks. Including dressing Eden, notice she is wearing a PJ shirt and David's jeans...I didn't say anything, we'll see if he reads this :)) Love you Paul!

Hip Hip Hooray

Paul is done with his first year of Law School! I am so proud of him. I know it hasn't been easy to go back to school. We love and support you babe!

Eden is VERY observant of Paul. The past couple of days these are some things she has said:

Eden: Daddy, you take off your shirt?
Paul: said nothing
Eden: Why you take off your shirt?
Paul: I'm going to take a shower.
Eden: Oh

When we dropped Paul off at school this morning, he got his backpack out of the car and said good bye to us.
Eden: Daddy...you have your backpack like a purse?
Paul: oh, yes I do (as he noticed that he was carrying it on one shoulder)

Tantrums & Twirls

Do you know what this is? Yes, a tantrum. Today at the store David was absolutely antsy. By the end he was shrieking and throwing his body in all directions. Eden was looking at him like he was insane! I smiled as she has had her fare share of public tantrums. I was just grateful that it was only one of them! I usually pack snacks and goodies to keep them in the buggy. Occasionally I let them walk...but that always ends in a disaster (why do I still think they will stay by me?). I am totally that mother who pushes her buggy of screaming kids while comparing prices on spaghetti sauce.

Twirling with her pretty pink dress Gigi made.

Holding on for a horsey ride. It melts my heart to see them happily playing together.

Journaling

I started this blog as a great way to stay connected to our family & friends. Then I had the after thought of journal writing. My sister- in- law shared this website where you can print your blogs in a book (see below). I have a baby journal in word document for each child that I include pictures and write dialogs a few times a month. The other day...I just realized, why am I doing double duty? Duh...I am going to try and focus more on the little details of our lives that I want to remember. Which probably means: longer and boring descriptions for you.

With that said: When Eden was little Paul wanted to wrestle with her. He couldn't wait until she was old enough. As I imagined she grew up and now is 100% girl and still isn't keen on wrestling. This picture depicts their personalities perfectly. Paul is approaching on all fours ready to scare and wrestle. Eden ran to the corner saying, "Daddy don't get me" and here is David ready to pounce!

http://www.blurb.com/create/book/blogbook Has anyone used this? Do you print your blogs? What company do you use? The prices seem reasonable...cheaper then the photo prints, embellishments, paper and supplies I would use to make a scrapbook.

Sunday

A funny conversations:
While driving in the car on April 25th
Cyndi: Eden, what are you doing?
Eden: I bite my nails.
Cyndi: Why are you biting your nails?
Eden: Because it's so yummy.

Double Decker Arts Festival

Today was the 13th annual Double Decker festival. It is THE event of the year. Crowds of people, food and art vendors, children's entertainment, music and of course a ride on the double decker bus. Paul almost got the boiled crawfish...but I think the look on my face told him he would be alone at that meal.

David couldn't get close enough to the animals while Eden folded her arms and watched from a distance.

Enjoying Spring

Paul's garden. He fenced it in and made a little door. He even cut down the top of a tree so the plants could have more sun. We are excited to watch it grow!

Eden dunking her head...then David trying to copy.
These Azalea bushes are in front of our neighbor's house. They are gorgeous!

I was trying to keep David awake a little longer but when I came downstairs sleep had won.

Looking back

For more pictures visit Gigi & Papa's blog. My mom made Eden a twirly princess dress which she adores and brought David some cars. It was a fun week. I have the best mom. Even though we miss our family, we really do love it here in Mississippi.

Oh the memories....

Tyler was born and I was ready to be his second mommy. We slept over at our neighbors house (the one Amber used to call a pest...hee hee). I remember standing in their hallway when I heard the baby was a boy!
I was bugging mom to get my drivers license. I had the WORSE HAIRCUT EVER and a round face. It was a time of braces, shag hair and baggy sweatshirts...I defiantly had those "awkward years". Unlike my sister who had so many boyfriends.
On a mission in Durban, South Africa! BEST BEST BEST decision I made up until that point in my life.
Got married, graduated from college and announced I was pregnant.
David joined the family and we decided to attend Ole Miss Law School.

So far this year
Eden is speaking in full sentences. David is STILL a mommas boy :) Paul put up a fence and planted a garden. I am now my natural hair color...scary!
Yesterday
I took my mom to the airport and cried on the way home. By the time I was home all the tears were gone and I was ok. I'm so glad she came to visit. Love you mom.
Today
I cleaned, mopped floors and started laundry. Back to business.
Tomorrow
Probably a Wal-Mart run to pick up some bananas and skim milk (I just can't drink our box milk anymore). Maybe story time and playing with Abby and Sarah who have been gone for a week.
This year
HOPEFULLY survive the summer humidity.

That was fun! Thanks Amber for tagging me. You don't have to...but if you want: I tag Lisa B. and all my blogging sister in-laws.

Utah meets Mississippi

Our Gigi is coming today! I am so excited to have my mom all to myself...maybe I'll share her with the kids :). Thanks Papa and Bradley for letting her come.

Bathroom singing

It all started when Paul showed Eden the music video, "That's How You Know" from Enchanted on his laptop. We borrowed the movie from our neighbors (thanks again Yamniks) and ever since then she has been singing.

Princess Eden

What do you do when your 2 year old LOVES anything princess and being naked? Eden just loves to run around in the nude, she thinks it's the greatest thing in the world. I combined the two forces and turned half her wardrobe into princess clothes. So far...2 days staying dressed all day. Hurray!

(Camera is MIA...don't ask. These video camera photos will have to do)

Step away from the buzzers

I should not be allowed to touch scissors let alone buzzers. Today I decided to give David a quick trim...well, I thought it would be so easy with a buzzer. WAY to short and now he looks bald. I never realized how blonde his hair is, you can't even see it on the sides. Paul saids he's ready for boot camp. Oh my, when will I learn?

(sorry the picture is grainy, taken with video camera)

Food & Crafts...when there's nothing else to blog about

Sweet, salty, crunchy, chewy, nutty...I just LOVE trailmix. It is the best combination of foods. You must admit, eating a fresh peanut with plain chocolate tastes SO much better than a boring peanut m&m. So this is a salute to my favorite snack.

Some crafts I have seen on others blogs I possibly might attempt. Aren't they so fun!

Magnetic dinner board. Use chalk to change menus and recipe cards behind so everything is ready!
